Dr. Alfred Shang is the Founder and CEO of BitRock Capital, a venture capital firm that focuses on Fintech and digitalization investments in the Greater China and US. Before founding BitRock, Alfred was a partner of Bain & Company and Head of the firm’s Financial Services Practice in Greater China.
He advised leading multinational and Chinese financial institutions and investment firms on a wide range of topics including asset and wealth management, strategy, digitalization, business model design, organization and operational improvement. At BitRock, Alfred led investments in several leading Fintech startups including Linklogis (9959.HK),
OneDegree, Sygnum, Fen Bei Tong, and Lingxi Technologies, etc.
Alfred received his Ph.D. degree in Economics with focus on Finance from Harvard University. His research focuses on the interaction between market inefficiency and corporate governance. He also obtained a joint B.A. / M.A. degree in Economics from the University of Chicago.
